Having slept, a strange light yet his vision, and hey here the plain where lying, ethereal sweeping staircase seemed to lead to high, to the very gates of heaven and the angels of God ascending and descending on it, while from the heights of glory could hear the Divine voice delivered a message of comfort and hope. So Jacob was revealed that met the need and desire of his soul: a Savior. with joy and gratitude he saw that he was shown a way by which, though a sinner, could be returned to communion with God. The mystic ladder dream represented the Lord Jesus, the only means of communication between God and man. This same figure Christ referred in His conversation with Nathanael, when he said: "see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man." (Jn 1:51). Outside of Him there is no true excellence of character, and the only way to go to God is Christ who says, "I Am the Way, the Truth and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father except through me." (Jn 14, 6). The God's heart yearns over His earthly children with a love stronger than death. Moreover, the judgments of God pronounced against sin, the inevitable retribution, the degradation of our character and the final destruction are presented in the Word of God to warn us against the service of Satan.
